The revolutionary project, Google books brings the world wealth of knowledge to every individual with internet access. Once the project is complete; every individual can know where the required information exists, later one can find a way to get complete access. Scanning books and loading it into the internet sounds simple. But one getting the idea and executing is what the need of the hour.

Months ago, a friend encouraged me to take a subscription at a local private library. Being knowledge enthusiast and lazy at reading books with hundreds of pages; gave a thought and took subscription. Felt that having a subscription and making a habit of visiting the library once a week would encourage me to read books. Moreover, participated in a few of the library initiatives and attended some events. But, after a few weeks, I gave up and withdrew subscription. This is because of my inbuilt nature of averse to read chunks.

After a few weeks, another friend took me to my office library and introduced me to audio-books compact disks. Even though the audio-book concept is not new for me; the availability and having an audio player in my car made me listen to audio-books, since then. I listened (read) to few books many times and then my thirst of gaining knowledge from books started. It encouraged me to download the audio-books from torrentz. My next steps are to burn the novels to compact disk re-writable and keep listening.

The Google books example and my tryst with knowledge chunks is an indication of a simple idea and great technology combined - makes life peaceful!!!
